When her nose isn’t buried in a book, Rachel is probably out in her kayak, doing yoga, or tinkering with code. By day, she’s the AppDev Practice Manager at Cardinal Solutions in Charlotte, NC. Rachel thrives on leading teams to deliver high quality software. She’s been programming for over 18 years and leading for at least 6 of those years. Most recently, she’s been architecting mobile apps using Swift, digging into technologies focused on streamlining developer workflows (devops!), and her teams are well-versed in development best practices.
I love creating things, whether it’s software, processes, or teams. I thrive on bringing concepts to life.
I’ve spent 15+ years working with technologies, and have seen the evolution. I’ve always been a creator of things. I started writing website, moved to web applications, and now I focus primarily on mobile development all while keeping an eye on the backend technologies in order to serve my apps.
Historically, I’ve specialized in object oriented programming technologies in a variety of mediums, but have recently focused primarily on mobile app development using native technologies (Objective-C, Swift, Android). I have a strong background in web apps, and while I still tinker on occasion, I don’t consider myself a very seasoned front end dev. I have extensive experience in a variety of backend technologies including C#, Java, SQL (several flavors), and more, particularly in the cloud.
I do not write PHP.
